Haven't posted in a long time and I still have something to say about "Bus Stop."  We took an excerpt from the play to OCTA regional competition on June 24 in Newark.  A much less than satisfying experience.  I don't do theater to compete, and I thought the judges' comments were way too subjective to be helpful, even though they commented positively about my fight scene with 'cowboy' John Grote.  Hope not to have to do OCTA again; I did it simply to not end up being the only one in the show who didn't go, and they needed me for the excerpt.
Tom's back from Germany; he had a great trip.  He introduced me to Porcupine Tree.  Highly worth a listen.
Fourth of July holiday is over, heading into the teeth of summer.

The curtain must fall...

Ich bin Schauspieler fur ein mehr Woche.  In other words, Bus Stop comes to a close after Saturday, March 17th's performance.  We tear down the exquisite set and move on with our lives.  To be honest Bus Stop has been good, but not The Foreigner good.  In The Foreigner, we had a cast with no superstars or divas, a "Gracie" award winning male lead (Dale Yurovich) and set, and a cast that supported each other every step of the way.  We quickly got to the point where we really liked each other early.  It was a super experience, one that I hope I have waiting again down the road.
If you saw Bus Stop, I hope you liked it.  The show isn't wearing its 52 years well, me thinks, but we did a good job with it.
Props to the ITK students.  At the end of season banquet last night, they beat us parents again.  There's next year, kids.
Auf wiedersehen, meine schoniche Kindern.

Back on stage!

In rehearsals for "Bus Stop," a 1950s-era play by William Inge. I play the part of the town sheriff. I believe Marilyn Monroe played the chanteuse part in the 1956? film version. Anyway, the show runs February 23 to March 17. I'd love to see you all there; as I've said before, it's a lot more fun playing to a full house.

Boxing Day - Muhammad Ali's favorite?

Had a nice Christmas.  The Daniels clan (Mom, Dad, brother, sisters, families, etc.) were here on Christmas Eve.  Next morning opened gifts here then off to Cincinnati to visit the Evans clan (in-laws.)  Everyone is well and happy this holiday season.  Hope you are too.

Heading into darkroom to develop latest theater portraits.  "Perfect Wedding" by Robin Howdon opens January 12 at LTOB.  The show has a great cast and should be a winner.  Go see it.   I will audition for "Bus Stop" by William Inge on January 14 & 15.  Hope that goes well.  I needs ta get back on stage!

Best to all for 2007.
